Chessmen Club of the North Shore, Inc.

Nonprofit organization of African American men, founded in 1958 by Evanston police officers, Andrew Rodez and William Logan, jr. Supports activities beneficial to youth, seniors and families in the North Shore communities. Awards over 200 youth scholarships annually, provides holiday food baskets, and supports other community youth activities, such as Fellowship of Afro-American Men youth basketball league. Hosts annual fundraising gala.
